Privacy Policy

Posi is a camera app that shows you how to pose. This policy explains what the Posi app and this website (tryposi.com) do with your information. The short version: we never see your photos, and the app only goes online to check or buy Posi Pro, and when you search with Find my pose.

The short version

  • No account. You never sign up or give us your name, email address or phone number.
  • Your photos stay on your phone. Posi has no cloud and no server of its own to upload them to.
  • No ads and no tracking. The app doesn’t show ads or follow you across other apps and websites.
  • Online only when it needs to be. When your phone is online, the app checks with our subscription service, RevenueCat, whether you have Posi Pro. It sends a random ID and your purchase details, never your photos.
  • Find my pose sends words, not photos. When you search, your answers and note go to our server, which asks OpenAI’s AI model to pick poses. Posi asks before your first search, and our server doesn’t keep what you typed.
  • You decide where photos go. A photo only leaves Posi when you share it, or when Save to Photos adds it to your Photos app.

What the app keeps on your phone

To work, Posi stores the following in its own private storage on your device:

  • the photos you take with Posi, which you’ll find in Saved;
  • the poses you save, and the ones you’ve used recently;
  • your settings, and how you’ve set up the guide, such as its opacity, size and position;
  • a copy of the photo you chose to line up with, if you use one of your own photos as the guide;
  • your Posi Pro status, so Posi Pro keeps working without a connection;
  • your last Find my pose search and the poses it suggested, and how many searches you’ve made today.

Apart from your Find my pose answers when you search, none of this is sent to us or anyone else, and we have no way to access it. Depending on your phone’s settings, it may be included in your device’s own backups, which are handled by Apple or Google under their privacy policies.

Posi Pro

Posi Pro is bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google takes the payment, so we never see your card details, name or email address.

To check whether you have Posi Pro, and to restore it on a new phone, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service that works on our behalf. When your phone is online, Posi sends RevenueCat:

  • a random ID the app creates, which isn’t linked to your name, email address or phone number;
  • your Posi Pro purchases and subscription status, as confirmed by Apple or Google, such as the plan, its price and when it renews;
  • technical details, such as the app version, your phone’s operating system, and your region, language and currency.

Like any internet service, RevenueCat also receives your phone’s IP address when the app connects. It doesn’t receive your photos, poses or settings, your location or your contacts.

We use this information to give you Posi Pro and restore it, to prevent fraud, and to see how many people subscribe. We don’t use it for advertising or link it to your identity. RevenueCat handles it under its own privacy policy, at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Find my pose

Find my pose suggests poses for the photo you describe. It uses an AI model from OpenAI, reached through Replit, the service that hosts our server. The first time you search, Posi explains this and asks whether to go ahead. When you tap Find poses, the app sends our server:

  • your answers: who’s in the photo, and where you are, the kind of shot and the moods, if you chose them;
  • the note you typed, if any, up to 200 characters.

It doesn’t send your photos, the random ID used for Posi Pro, or anything else from your phone. Our server passes your answers and note to OpenAI, which picks poses from Posi’s library and writes a short reason for each. OpenAI doesn’t use these requests to train its models.

Our server doesn’t store your note. For each search it logs the answers you chose, the note’s length, how many poses came back and how long it took, so we can keep Find my pose working, but not your IP address. Like any internet service, it receives your phone’s IP address when the app connects, and keeps it in memory for up to an hour to limit how many searches can be made from one address. Please don’t put personal details, such as names or contact details, in the note.

Permissions the app asks for

Camera

Posi uses the camera to show a pose over your shot and take your photos. It only turns the camera on while the camera screen is open. The pose guide is drawn on your phone, and nothing the camera sees is sent anywhere. Posi doesn’t analyse your body or check your pose.

Photos

If you choose one of your own photos as a guide, Posi uses your phone’s photo picker, so it only sees the photo you pick. It keeps a copy of just that photo, and removing it from the guide deletes the copy.

When Save to Photos is on, Posi asks to add photos to your photo library. This is add-only access, so Posi can’t see the rest of your library.

What Posi never asks for

Posi doesn’t ask for access to your microphone, location or contacts.

Saving and sharing

With Save to Photos on in Settings, each photo you take is also added to your phone’s photo library. When you share a photo, you choose where it goes, and what happens next is covered by the privacy policy of the app or service you share it with.

Deleting your data

You can delete any photo in Saved whenever you like, or clear them all at once with Delete All Photos in Settings. Uninstalling Posi removes everything it stored on your phone. Photos that are also in your Photos app, or that you shared, stay where they are.

This website

tryposi.com is a simple information site. It has no sign-up, no forms and no advertising or analytics scripts of our own, and it doesn’t load third-party scripts, fonts or trackers.

Like any website, it’s served by a hosting provider, Replit. To deliver the site and keep it secure, Replit processes technical information sent by your browser, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. Replit also gives us aggregated traffic statistics, such as approximate visitor numbers, popular pages, referring sites, countries and device types. These statistics don’t identify you.

The site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser. Replit’s servers may set a technical cookie when they deliver the site, which we don’t use.

If you follow a link to the App Store or Google Play, Apple’s or Google’s privacy policy applies from then on.

Children

Posi doesn’t ask anyone, including children, for their name, email address or other contact details. Purchases go through Apple or Google, whose parental controls, such as Ask to Buy and Family Link, let parents approve them.

Your rights

Your photos, poses and settings are on your phone and fully under your control. The only information about you that leaves your phone is the Posi Pro record described above, which is stored under a random ID rather than your name, and your Find my pose answers, which our server passes on without keeping your note. To see or delete that record, email us at info@tryposi.com with the order ID from your App Store or Google Play receipt, so we can find it.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the UK GDPR or EU GDPR, and you can complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that’s the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a future version of Posi ever changes how it handles your information, we’ll update this policy before that version is released. Our Terms of Use cover the rest.
